"When you've spent hours traveling, there's a universal question every road trip eventually asks: "Okay...where are we eating?" Two years ago, a friend pointed us toward Bon Ton's Café, and after one meal we walked away thinking, "We'll definitely be back." Fast forward two years, and that's exactly what we did. To me, that's one of the best reviews a restaurant can get. You remember it years later and intentionally make it part of your trip. I noticed a few reviews mentioning inconsistent service, but that wasn't our experience. Were they bustling? Absolutely. The place was busy, especially on the outdoor patio, where the weather was just about perfect. But everyone seemed genuinely focused on serving good food to good people, and sometimes that's exactly what matters. Now let's talk about the important stuff. I ordered the lemon blueberry pancake special, and let me just say...those pancakes were bomb diggity. Light, fluffy, loaded with flavor, and the kind of breakfast that makes you seriously consider ordering a second plate while pretending it's "for the table." Just kidding... I got the meal version which were smaller but the regular two my daughter ordered were each the size of of a frisbee... The kind that gives concussions. Do I was able to "help" The home fries deserve their own paragraph. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and cooked exactly the way home fries should be. Too many restaurants treat them like an afterthought. Bon Ton's clearly got the memo that potatoes are serious business. What really stood out, though, was watching plate after plate come out of the kitchen. It's rare, but I honestly didn't see a single dish pass by that didn't make someone at our table say, "Ooo...what's that?" By the end of breakfast we were mentally planning what we'd order on our next visit before we'd even paid the bill. Okay... I'll be getting the blueberry lemon pancakes again. If you're in Old Colorado City and looking for breakfast or brunch, this place absolutely deserves a stop. We waited two years to come back. I have a feeling the next return trip won't take nearly that long."
"Definitely my new go to for when I’m looking for gluten free breakfast! The pancakes were the best gluten free ones I’ve ever had. Having to find good food with celiac the last 8yrs has been hard but I had no reaction and was very impressed. The outside area is also very inviting. The service was slow but it was during Territory Days (big downtown event) so I will definitely be going back sometime to see how it goes!"
"A beautiful outside seating experience but busy most nice days. Service was good. The food was ok, depends on what you order."
